Program

Day 1

We land in Ivalo, a small town nestled in the heart of Finnish Lapland, beyond the Arctic Circle. From here, our journey begins through the spectacular snow-covered coniferous forests, a fairytale-like landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see. After crossing these magical lands, we will arrive at Tuulen Tupa, an enchanting wooden lodge located in the Lappish forest near Kaamanen. Tuulen Tupa offers an immersive experience in Arctic nature: from the lodge’s windows, we can observe birds like the Siberian tit, Siberian jay, and pine grosbeak that come to feed at the Skua feeders set up near the lodge. Here, the silence of the Lappish taiga will envelop us, allowing us to experience a moment of pure connection with the wild northern nature. In the evening, weather permitting, we will set out in search of our first Northern Lights, which can be seen directly from the lodge or during a short walk in the surrounding area.

Day 2

We will head to the village of Tana, where one of the most beautiful and fun Arctic experiences awaits us: the Husky sledding adventure! Surrounded by a stunning winter landscape and the complete silence of this setting, we will embark on a snowy path pulled by these wonderful huskies. After the adventure, we’ll enjoy lunch and then reach our lodge in the cozy village of Kongsfjord for a relaxing afternoon with a sauna and wellness before dinner at our restaurant. As every evening, if weather conditions permit, we will go in search of the Northern Lights, guided by an expert.

Day 3

Our journey takes us even further north to Berlevåg, a small village just below the latitude of the North Cape. This area is the northernmost part of mainland Norway. The route is a spectacular journey in and out of small fjords where snow and ice gracefully wrap around jagged rocks and cliffs overlooking the Barents Sea. We will visit the town’s maritime museum and delve into the history of these lands during World War II. After lunch, we will return to Kongsfjord, where we will organize a snowshoe hike on the Veines promontory for a panoramic view of the surroundings and to explore the surrounding landscape. Depending on the weather, we might also visit some abandoned bunkers and even spot a snow-covered tank. As evening falls, we’ll resume our quest for the Northern Lights, capturing their beauty among the fjords.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will venture across the vast highlands between Kongsfjord and Båtsfjord, observing reindeer grazing with snow on their snouts amidst the unique landscape in the heart of the Finnmark region. The undulating snow-covered peaks blend with the white clouds on the horizon, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Upon arriving in Båtsfjord, we’ll embark on a boat excursion to catch King Crab, a giant crab that lives in the waters of these latitudes. Upon returning from the expedition, we’ll stop in a cozy room prepared for us to enjoy the freshly caught crab for lunch. Returning to Kongsfjord, we can enjoy a Norwegian sauna at the Lodge, or for those interested, we can organize another snowshoe hike. After dinner, we’ll head to the Kjølnes lighthouse for a captivating view of the lighthouse framed by the Northern Lights.

Day 5

We will travel along the entire Varangerfjord, the largest fjord in Norway. Among the picturesque snow-covered fishing villages, we’ll observe reindeer and sea eagles, guided by our expert who will help us capture the best photos of the local wildlife. We will visit Nesseby Church, located on a snowy beach next to an impressive fish drying rack. In Vadsø, we’ll search for Arctic hares, their white fur camouflaged in the snowy landscape. Once we reach Vardø, after dinner, we’ll visit the Witch Museum, diving into the fascinating history of the women who lost their lives as witches in Vardø, as well as the Drakkar, the town's iconic monument—a sculpture that resembles a Viking ship and a dragon. This is the perfect location for breathtaking photographs with the Northern Lights. We will spend the night in Vardø.

Day 6

After breakfast in Vardø, we’ll embark on a journey through the magnificent landscapes of the Norwegian coast, heading toward Nuorgam and the Finnish border. The route will take us through spectacular ascents and descents, where we can admire the characteristic fishing villages, with their colorful houses facing the sea. We’ll stop for lunch along the way before crossing back into Finland to reach the village of Kaamanen, where we’ll meet a SAMI herder with his reindeer. During this unique experience, we’ll have the opportunity to help him feed the reindeer and listen to stories and traditions of this Arctic people while sitting around a warm fire, immersed in the Lappish forest. After this special day, we will return to Tuulen Tupa, our retreat in the Lappish forest. Here, we can once again enjoy the surrounding nature and have dinner in a warm and cozy atmosphere. After dinner, we’ll prepare for another evening of Northern Lights hunting, guided by an expert.

Day 7

We will wake up surrounded by the quiet of the Lappish forest at Tuulen Tupa, where we can enjoy a relaxing breakfast amidst the snowy landscape. After recharging, we’ll head to Inari, where we will visit the famous Siida Museum, dedicated to the culture and history of the Sámi people. During the visit, we can explore fascinating exhibits that tell the story of the strong connection between the Sámi and the nature around them. In addition to the indoor exhibitions, the museum offers an outdoor area that allows for an immersive experience into the history and traditions of this indigenous northern population. After the visit, we’ll stop for a traditional lunch featuring local specialties. In the afternoon, we’ll move to Ivalo, where we’ll have some free time to explore the town and shop for typical Lapland souvenirs, such as Sámi crafts, jewelry, or reindeer leather products. We’ll then settle into our hotel in Ivalo to relax. In the evening, we’ll enjoy the final dinner of the trip, reflecting on all the incredible experiences we’ve had over the past days. After dinner, we’ll go on one last evening excursion to search for the Northern Lights, hoping to conclude our journey with the breathtaking spectacle of the northern lights in the Arctic sky.

Day 8

On the last day, we’ll wake up and, after breakfast, head to the airport. Depending on the flight time, if we have the opportunity, we might take one last walk in the enchanting Lappish landscape.
