Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM at the Skua office in Villarreal de San Carlos, where our knowledgeable and passionate guides will introduce the itinerary and set the tone for a day of discovery. From there, enjoy a scenic drive deep into the park, surrounded by rolling hills, dramatic cliffs, and dense Mediterranean forests teeming with wildlife. Stop at two of the park’s most iconic viewpoints: Salto del Gitano, where towering cliffs plunge into the sparkling Tagus River, and Portilla del Tiétar, a birdwatcher’s paradise known for its incredible views and vibrant wildlife activity. Throughout the drive, we’ll make several stops to observe and photograph the diverse flora and fauna that make Monfragüe so unique. As you venture further, encounter the park’s extraordinary birdlife. Home to one of Europe’s largest colonies of griffon vultures, Monfragüe also shelters rare species like black vultures, Bonelli’s eagles, and the endangered Spanish imperial eagle. With our expert guidance and provided binoculars, you’ll gain an intimate understanding of the park’s delicate ecosystem and its majestic inhabitants. At midday, we’ll arrive at Finca La Parrilla, a private estate owned by Skua, tucked away in a tranquil corner of the countryside. Here, you’ll unwind with a delightful picnic in the estate’s picturesque garden. Surrounded by rolling hills, fresh air, and stunning views, this relaxing moment will recharge you for the adventure ahead. The afternoon promises an extraordinary wildlife encounter. From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, enjoy exclusive access to the muladar hide, a specially designed observation point that allows you to witness vultures up close. Watch in awe as these powerful birds gather to feed, interact, and display their natural behaviors in an experience few get to enjoy. Our hide offers both comfort and unparalleled viewing opportunities, making it a highlight of the day. As the day winds down, soak in the peaceful atmosphere of the park one last time as we make our way back to Villarreal de San Carlos. You’ll return by 5:00 PM, leaving with unforgettable memories, stunning photos, and a deeper appreciation for one of Spain’s most cherished natural areas.
