We will glide through frozen birch forests on dog-sleds, strap on snowshoes to explore hidden fjords, and haul king crabs from Arctic waters. We will meet Sami herders, guardians of an ancient harmony with nature and observe reindeer in their native habitat. In the evening, we’ll warm ourselves in a sea-facing sauna or by the fire, savouring dishes prepared according to local tradition. And if the aurora chooses to reveal itself, no words will be needed only eyes lifted to the sky and silence.
Day 1 – Arrival in Tromsø – the vibrant Arctic capital set between snow-covered mountains and fjords After the transfer to the hotel, we will have time to enjoy the city, strolling through the warm lights of the centre. The evening is free and, with a bit of luck, we may witness our first Northern Lights—an unforgettable way to begin our journey.
Day 2 – Sami encounter, domestic flight to Berlevåg and arrival at Kongsfjord Arctic Lodge
After breakfast, our morning begins with an experience that reflects the true soul of the North: a visit to a Sami camp, where we will meet a Sami herder and his reindeer, listening to stories of a life deeply woven into nature. This will be a genuine, unfiltered encounter, accompanied by a traditional lunch. We return to Tromsø and, after check-out, head to the airport. During the short domestic flight we will admire fjords and tundra from above before landing in Berlevåg. Here, our guide will welcome us and lead us to Kongsfjord Arctic Lodge, our privately owned property, once a traditional fishing village.
Day 3 – King Crab fishing, sauna and Northern Lights
After breakfast in Kongsfjord, we spend the morning experiencing one of Varanger’s most fascinating traditions: a boat excursion to catch the Arctic King Crab, the giant of these northern waters. After returning from the excursion, we enjoy lunch at Brygge, savouring the freshly caught King Crab. In the afternoon, we return to Kongsfjord to relax in the lodge’s sauna overlooking the sea, accompanied by a hot drink and sweet treats. The bravest may even finish with a plunge into fresh snow—or directly into the sea—just steps from the sauna. We dine in Kongsfjord and later continue our Northern Lights observation.
Day 4 – Snowshoe hike, dog sledding and dinner in Lapland
After breakfast, we put on snowshoes for a panoramic hike across high plateaus and frozen fjords—each step on the snow a story of silence and immensity. We then depart for Tana, where one of the trip’s most thrilling moments awaits: dog sledding with a team of enthusiastic huskies leading us through pristine winter landscapes. Our journey continues into Finnish Lapland, with a stop at a Sami boutique to discover authentic crafts made of wood, reindeer antler and traditional colours. We overnight in a Finnish lodge, enjoy a warm traditional dinner, and on our final evening chase the Northern Lights once more.
Day 5 – Siida Museum and departure
On our final day, we visit the SIIDA Museum, an important cultural centre dedicated to Sami heritage and Arctic nature. Here, we explore traditions, mythology, tools and testimony of a people who have lived in equilibrium with the tundra for millennia. After the visit, we transfer to Ivalo Airport for the return flight.

It is essential to choose garments that ensure both comfort and safety throughout the trip. We recommend packing snow crampons, a ski mask or windproof face protection, and a winter barrier cream to protect your skin from extreme cold. Quality gloves and socks are also highly recommended.
